Janice’s oldest granddaughter, Jill (Freeburg) Eggert, became the Director of the studio after graduating college in 2013. Jill danced for her grandmother for 16 years and assisted Janice. She also danced on the Plattsmouth High School dance team for 4 years and served as a captain her senior year. Upon graduating from Plattsmouth High School in 2009, Jill attended UNO while continuing to dance, choreograph, and teach with Janice. She then transferred to UNL, where she graduated in 2013 with a Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Development/Education. Jill enjoys teaching PE at PHS, running the business side of the studio, coaching the PHS Dance Team, and coaching her daughter’s volleyball team. Dance and teaching are two of her passions, and being able to combine the two is a dream come true. Jill and her husband, Alex, have 2 beautiful daughters, Elliot and Emery that love being students at JDS and all their many other activities!

Janice’s second granddaughter Julia (Freeburg) Musser began her role as Co-Owner and Assistant Director of Janice’s Dance Studio in 2016. Julia began dancing at 2 years old and she danced for Janice for 16 years. While in high school Julia was on the dance team and also served as a captain. Upon graduating from Plattsmouth High School in 2012, Julia attended UNL where she continued to dance and choreograph for the studio. She graduated from UNL in 2016 with a Bachelors of Science in Interior Design and now works in events at our church. Dance was a great outlet to break out of her shy personality as a child as well as an escape from any hardships. Being able to connect and help other students is a joy of hers. Julia also enjoys helping run a camp for local teens in the foster care system.

Addie has been dancing at Janice’s Dance Studio since she was just 3 years old. The studio played a big role in helping her grow as a dancer, especially during her four years on Conestoga’s Dance Team, where she helped bring home four state championships in hip hop. She graduated with the Class of 2023 and is now a student-athlete at Nebraska Wesleyan University. Addie is part of the NWU Dance Team and is studying Criminology and Political Science. Even with a busy college schedule, she knew she couldn’t leave dance behind- so she’s always excited to be back at JDS, choreographing and teaching, where it all started.

Alison burns

Alison (Wohlfarth) Burns danced for Janice from early childhood all the way through her Senior year of high school. As a student assistant for many years (she actually taught Jill & Julia when they were little), Janice fostered in her a love of teaching, which continues to this day. From captain of the PHS Dance Team, to the UNO Mavericks Dance Team, to the Semi-Pro Omaha Beef Dance Team, to internationally ranked Professional Fitness competitor of the IFBB; dance and performance has always been a major part of her life. Alison has a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and has been a Realtor for 15+ years. She has instructed fitness classes in Arizona, Florida and Nebraska and has previously trained the Arizona Diamond Backs Coaching staff in Pilates, Cycling and Yoga (so fun!). Alison is the lead instructor at two Club Pilates locations, and teaches cycling and Pilates at Genesis Health Clubs. She loves being a Realtor with RE/MAX Results, and has been selling real estate for over 21 years. She is married to an amazing man, Matt, and has two beautiful children, Lily and Logan, and two cats, Daenerys and Drogon. Her daughter Lily, will be a high schooler at Marian, and loves the studio so much, that she begged to sign up for ALL the classes again, this year. Watching Lily grow as a dancer at JDS fills her heart with immense pride.


angie hogue

Angie (Macrander) Hogue has been part of the JDS Family for as long as she can remember. First as a dancer, then an assistant, and now as a passionate instructor and choreographer. She spent 15 years coaching the Conestoga High School Dance Team, leading them to six State Championships and earning multiple honors, including CHS Coach of the Year, Universal Dance Association’s Outstanding Coach of the Year, and the Nebraska Coaches Association’s Varsity Dance Coach of the Year. Though she’s retired from coaching, Angie continues to share her sparkle by mentoring local coaches, cleaning routines, and helping teams feel competition-ready. Her heart is especially with the JDS Juniorettes, where she loves helping young dancers build confidence, skills and spirit as they prepare for high school teams. Angie is married to her high school sweetheart, Bobby, and they’re enjoying life as empty nesters while their two kids, Dawson and Bella, are all grown up. When she’s not teaching dance, Angie works as the Director of People and Culture at a dental office, where her goal each day is to ensure everyone feels valued and appreciated.

Bella hogue

Bella Hogue is the Pre-Acro, Acro, and Advanced Acro instructor and choreographer. Bella first started at JDS at 2 years old, and she’s been dancing ever since! With 15 years of studio experience and 4 years on Conestoga’s State Champion Dance Team, Bella has grown a deep love for all styles of dance, especially acro. Over the years, Bella has turned her passion for dance toward choreography, creating competition routines for Nebraska Wesleyan University, Lourdes Central Catholic, Plattsmouth, Conestoga, and Ord High School teams. Bella graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan in 2024 with a degree in Communication Studies and Marketing and competed on the track and field team. Outside of dance, Bella works as a social media specialist in Lincoln, and is engaged to her fiancé and former track teammate, Kyle. On year 20 of dancing and year 6 as an instructor, Bella is forever honored to share the love for dance that Janice first sparked in her.


carolyn winters

Carolyn (Offutt) Winters started her dance career when she was 3 years old with Janice. She continued to dance under Janice until she graduated from high school and helped Janice as a student assistant for many years. While in high school, Carolyn was a part of the dance team and color guard. In college, Carolyn was on the dance team at Midland University in Fremont and was also part of their cheerleading programs. Once she graduated and moved back home, Carolyn reached out Janice to see if she could help teach again, as she missed it while she was in college, and the rest is history. Carolyn’s love for teaching is one reason why she decided to become an educator and is now a preschool teacher at the Early Childhood Center in Plattsmouth. Carolyn has two children with her husband John; Luke and Alexandria. Carolyn hopes that her children will follow in her passion for dance as they get older, especially Alexandria.

devanne dragoo

Devanne (Martin) Dragoo started dancing at 3 years old and she danced for Janice for 15 years (with the addition of Jill her senior year). She was on the dance team at Conestoga High School for 4 years, coached by Angie Hogue. After graduation in 2014, she joined the Nebraska Wesleyan University Gold Rush Dance Team and was apart of the Great Plains Athletic Conference champion team. During her continued education at Nebraska Wesleyan, she shifted her focus from dance team to nursing school and graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2018! Devanne is currently a Case Management Nurse at Nebraska Medicine and married her husband, Damon, in 2019 (he’s been a devoted dance boyfriend since 2011). Their daughter, Saylor (4) is apart of the JDS family & welcomed their son, Otto, in March of 2025. Devanne has always loved dance and has stayed involved by judging studio and high school team tryouts. JDS was always her getaway and safe-haven growing up. She has felt that JDS has been like a family from the beginning and is so excited to continue to share her passion with current and future students.


elizabeth barrios

Elizabeth has been at JDS since she was 4 year olds and has helped assist dance classes throughout high school. Through being an assistant, Elizabeth developed a passion for teaching dance. She especially has a strong love for ballet. Elizabeth attends the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO) and studies communication disorders with a minor in psychology. Elizabeth loves helping other achieve their goals and enjoys being an instructor for Janice’s Dance Studio.

Hanna warak

Hanna Warak took up dancing at the age of 3, following in her mother, Paula’s, footsteps. She continued to dance for Janice's Dance Studio all of the way up through her senior year of high school. Hanna grew up also doing gymnastics and was a cheerleader in high school and college. High school opportunities allowed her to choreograph middle school and high school show choir numbers and the small of town Wayne, NE allowed her to coach a tumbling class while getting a higher education. Hanna attended Wayne State College and completed a degree in Middle Level Education with a focus in science and mathematics in 2019. By 2021, she also earned a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction through Peru State College. She is currently teaching science to 7th and 8th graders within the Elkhorn Public School District. Hanna is happy to be married to her husband, Joshua, and their small family of Avery and Paisley keep them busy. She is glad to be able to be back in the studio and share in the traditions built by so many generations of JDS members. She is hoping to pass down to the third generation in her family through the love Janice and the Freeburg's have given to the community all these years.


KELBY MAYFIELD

HEAD INSTRUCTOR / choreographer

Kelby started dancing when she was 3 years old and has been involved in the dance world ever since. She graduated from Plattsmouth high school where she danced at Janice’s Dance Studio and was on the high school dance team. After high school Kelby continued her dance education at Kansas State University where she received a degree in Dance and a degree in Elementary Education. With her Bachelors degrees Kelby moved to Grand Island where she taught 1st grade and coached the GISH dance team. Kelby also taught dance lessons for elementary through high school students at The Dance Company where she instructed dancers in tap, jazz, ballet, and technique classes. Kelby is so excited to be back dancing and teaching at JDS and can’t wait for all of the exciting new things this season!

LILY ROBY

HEAD INSTRUCTOR / choreographer

Lily began dancing at JDS when she was 3 years old, and has loved it ever since! She danced on her high school dance team and continued her dance career as a member and captain of the UNK Sapphire’s Dance Team while attending the University of Nebraska at Kearney. During her time in college, she also taught dance to students of all ages. Lily recently graduated with a degree in Advertising and Public Relations. She has always known she wanted to come back and teach at JDS- the studio holds such a special place in her heart! She is excited to continue sharing her love of dance and help inspire the next generation of dancers at JDS!


mackenzie heinrichs

Mackenzie (Miller) Heinrichs’ love for dance began at the age of 2 when she started dancing at JDS. In addition to being a students at the studio, Mackenzie volunteered as an assistant during her middle school and high school years. While in high school, Mackenzie was on the PHS Cheer Squad. JDS not only fostered her love for dancing, but for teaching children as well. After high school, Mackenzie attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln (UNL), majoring in Elementary Education. Currently, Mackenzie is a 2nd grade teacher at York Elementary School. In her free time, she likes to laugh with her friends and spend time with her dog Jeter. Mackenzie is very excited to be back at her dance home and to share the passion of dance that Janice, Jill, and Julia instilled in her with future students!

maDDY QUIMBY

Madison Quimby grew up dancing at JDS and is thrilled to return to the studio as a Hip Hop Instructor. A 2024 graduate of Plattsmouth High School, she was a dedicated member of the Dance Team and Color Guard all four years, and also performed with the Show Choir for three. Maddy has spent the past two years coaching the PHS Color Guard and is currently attending Soho Hair Academy, pursuing a career in Cosmetology. Her passion for dance, performance, and working with students shines through in every class she teaches.

Madison (McCoy) Morris started off her dance journey at the age of 4 with Janice as her instructor. As she went through high school, she continued dancing with Janice and Jill until she graduated. While attending Plattsmouth High School as a dance team member, she also danced and volunteered at JDS as an assistant. As she continued her life outside of high school, she married her high school sweetheart, Nate, in 2020 and they welcomed their first beautiful daughter, Wrenley, in 2022. Fast forward to 2024, they welcomed their second baby, a little boy named Knox. Continuing her journey through life and investing in her love for dance, she is excited to be back at JDS, sharing her passion with those around her and helping future students gain the love for dance. She hopes that one day, in the near future, that she will be able to share that same love for dance with her daughter, Wrenley!

morgan mcandrew

HEAD INSTRUCTOR / choreographer

Morgan McAndrew is a senior at the University of Nebraska Omaha, majoring in Environmental Life Science with aspirations of pursuing a career in land management. Her passion for the environment is matched by her lifelong love for dance, which began at the age of ten. Morgan grew up dancing at Janice’s Dance Studio and spent four years on the Conestoga Dance Team, where she had the opportunity to win four state titles alongside amazing teammates. After beginning her college journey in 2022, Morgan quickly realized how much she missed being part of the dance world. She is now entering her third year as a dance instructor at Janice’s, where she enjoys sharing her love for movement and creativity with the next generation of dancers.

Paula (Winters) Warak started dancing at Janice’s Dance Studio when she was 4 years old and danced through her senior year of high school. During her high school years she was a student assistant for Janice. Upon graduating high school, Paula attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) and got her degree in Aviation Administration. Once she graduated from college, Paula returned back to the area to help Janice again. She is married to her husband, JR, and they have three daughters (Hanna, Jess and Amber) who all danced for JDS. Paula has been blessed to be a stay at home mother, spending her time being involved in PTA and extra activities at all their schools and church. She has also spent hours upon hours following her daughters in their love of not only dance, but gymnastics, cheer, swimming and diving. Paula’s favorite part of teaching is when the dancers figure out a step that they are just learning or have been struggling with; the feeling of accomplishment they get is so rewarding. A fun fact about Paula is that she has taught all of our instructors (besides Angie)!
